28th October - brief update
We have sad news to share about 2016 sat tagged Langholm Harrier 'Rowan' - The Hawk and Owl Trust have a statement on their website:

Hattie and Grainne ( females tagged in 2013) are safe and well on Langholm Moor, Tarras has settled in the Peak District and Sorrel is currently in the Lowther Hills.
Having come twice this year past Langholm to see the hen harriers, it is disheartening to see yet another male hen harrier die in suspicious circumstances. One can only hope that the field workers, volunteers and followers can hope to look forward to a better future for hen harriers at some time in the future. It is not much consolation, but perhaps tagging them, and their subsequent deaths will eventually have some effect at a later stage.
